Dog Friendly Spots in Calgary

Starbucks – If you’re lucky to get a barista who’s in the know — not every employee knows of this perk — you can order a “puppacinno” for your dog but they will have to enjoy it outside.

Caffe Beano – More of a sidewalk gathering area than a formal patio, the benches outside Caffe Beano are welcoming for pooches. You’ll often find dog bowls filled with water here, so that Fido can rehydrate while you’re sipping your Americano.

Creekside Bar and Grill -This dog-friendly venue allows you to keep your pooch within your sight, although not right on the patio with you. The east side of the patio has hitching posts just for your dog. It’s shady, he’ll get ice water, a mat to lie on and treats. Four to five dogs can fit here at one time.

Banff Gondola -Bring Fido to enjoy a mountain view on the

Golf Sunday’s at Woodside – Pet Friendly

The Farmer’s House -The Farmer’s House has a specific area where dogs can be tethered. There’s an area between the restaurant’s gate and the patio where dogs can rest while their owners enjoy flatbreads or a charcuterie board. This patio is shaded by large trees, which reduces traffic noise for an enjoyable lunch for you and makes for a cool spot for your dog to hang out.

Ranchman’s Cookhouse and Dancehall -Ranchman’s is the city’s only licensed dog patio — it was even featured in National Geographic’s The Dog Lover’s Guide to Travel. Your dog will be treated like a star here. He’ll be able to sit with you and he’ll get his own bowl of water. Bring along treats for him to enjoy, too. The pet-friendly section of the patio is separated from the bar and restaurant by a gate, there’s a hitching post and the patio has been treated with a sanitary sealant. Contact Ranchman’s for more information on their “Yappy Hour.”

(There are conditions: your dog needs to be leashed and you need to have proof that he’s had all his vaccinations.)
